We stayed 3 nights in May and enjoyed our time at KOA!! We usually stay at a site on the pond, this time we got a site on the river and LOVED it! The bath house behind the office was extremely clean and the showers were hot with great water pressure. My husband also loved the coffee food truck - the coffee and breakfast foods were delicious. We have plans to return 2 more times this year!

Best weekend we have had since the campground left Jeff and Vicki !!! Staff very friendly and helpful !!! We have been coming to this campground 30+ years and have always loved it there … Thanks for a great weekend !!

Need security in the evenings and at night please treat the lakes for the lily pads taking over that beautiful lake bathrooms were clean campsites were neat some staff not very friendly questioning about coming back

We stayed in A section and sites are very close together. Lots of kids running around unsupervised and a lot of drivers in their personal gold carts not paying attention. Makes for dangerous conditions when driving.

The only thing I would like to see added is ventilation in the showers. It's no use in taking a shower just to be sweating when you get out. Other than that, it was a great stay and we will surely be back.

We didn’t like site B-19 the first time and we didn’t like it the second time we were there. We had to kick dog poop off the stones before we set up so we didn’t track it in our trailer. With that said the staff was friendly and it’s a nice place for families.

Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. We were in E01, and we did notice that the vehicles tend to exceed the speed limit at all times there. Very dangerous with children everywhere. Our site had a great view and since we were right beside of the dock, we did have children to walk right through our campsite. I know this is really on the parents, but these two items would be our only compliant.

Staff was 10+ friendly and helpful! Most amenities and services were great. My only complaint was the dog park--it was beyond sad. With all that space you can't make a bigger dog park with more obstacles?

Loved the campground . Loved the fun activities . Little disappointed in asking for 2 connecting sites only to be separated. Little disappointed in asking if we could have a large tent and a small tent and they said no only to get there and all sites had multiple tents in use. Other than that we were very pleased beautiful property.

Super crowded. People & cars everywhere. Had to continually ask people to move cars just so we could back in and drive out of our spot. Tried to redeem KOA rewards and it seemed impossible, finally they figured it out, but only after I booked another night. They advertise they give you 20% off an additional night when you stay before / after your stay, but wouldn’t honor since we had to move sit

Sites are way too close together. Waited for our "escort" to take us to our site....waited...and waited....finally decided to go find it on our own....have stayed at quite a few KOAs on our travels...felt more like a "Thousand Trails" campground....Which is not a positive...one and done

This is the 3rd KOA we’ve stayed at in the area. Asheville East is okay but we’d probably stay at one of the others before we came back to this one. The tent sites are at the very back of the park far away from any amenities and the walk to get to anything is crazy. There is a bath house close to the tent sites but on the women side only 1 of the 3 bathroom stalls locked.

We changed sites so we could gave shade and that was a mistake. The area we were in was very crowded and we had to ask a fellow camper to move is truck so we could get out. The grounds however are well-kept. Staff are friendly.

First time here. Great time! Staff was nice. The shop was stocked. The arcade and outdoor games were nice. The lake is beautiful. The tent site was really close to bathhouse. Would definitely come again!

A diverse campground with everything from pull through patio sites to sites tucked around the water or in the woods. We really enjoyed walking around the ponds and by the river. Conveniently located between Asheville and the small towns of Black Mountain and Montreat which we really enjoyed visiting. Can’t wait for our return visit.

Everyone there is friendly and helpful… we have been staying at this KOA for many years and come 3xs a year. If I could make a suggestion please have all dryers on property working. They are not…Also we leave our camper usually from May through October and pickup during our last stay. they use to put out camper and put in our in the spot for us before arrival. I’d like to see that come back!

This is such a nice campground! Loved looking out at the lake with all the wildlife. It was very quiet, bathrooms & showers were clean. Nice walking paths along the lakes & river. We were going to site see in the area but decided to just enjoy the camp. We will definitely return!

We enjoy staying at this KOA. For us it is in a convenient location in the Asheville for things we like to do. The bathhouse are nice. They seem to keep them up to date and clean. The staff has always been friendly to us. I've enjoyed being right on the small ponds and have enjoyed fishing in them. There are two ponds with fish. The loop around both ponds is approximately one mile. There is plenty of open space to walk dogs as well. Holiday weekends this KOA fills up. Lots of children. Expect to be patient when driving in and out of the campground most camp goers walk the camp ground roads. Most of the sites are back in only. Which is not a problem for our short trailer. The only negatives I have for this KOA is the dump station. It is hard to get to unless you have a short trailer and a vehicle with a good turning radius or you have to back into or out of the dump station. Some of the sites seem to hold water when it rains, but all the sites we've stayed in have been flat. We have not rented any of the bikes, pedal carts, golf carts or anything like that.
